The Editors

Quonset Hut: Metal Living for a Modern Age began as a project of the Alaska Design Forum. It was clear from the beginning of the project that there was enough information and depth of subject about the Quonset hut to produce a comprehensive publication. Chris Chiei and Julie Decker, who served as writers and editors for the publication, are board members of the Alaska Design Forum and took the lead in the publication. Chiei serves as the organization's artistic director.

The publication also brought in expertise in national and Alaska history and architectural history and criticism. Brian Carter is Dean of Architecture for the State University of New York at Buffalo, Tom Vanderbilt is a freelance writer from New York City, and Steven Haycox is a professor of Alaska history at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Together, these five individuals form the editorial and content base for the publication.
